“Because of shading and the orientation of carports, the site was not optimal, but we were able to optimize it with Enphase Microinverters. If we had used string inverters, we would have been blocked from installing on several areas.”

Why solar?

Coral Mountain Partners initially wanted to install a solar system on the clubhouse of its Coral Mountain Apartments to offset the electricity costs of the building. However, installer LaSalle Solar Systems knew that they could think bigger if they could overcome some tricky design challenges.

Why Enphase?

By using Enphase microinverters, LaSalle Solar Systems was able to expand the initial plans for a rooftop 50 kilowatt (kW) single array to a combined 319 kW system that used additional rooftop space and multiple carports. Microinverters enable greater design flexibility, which means that panels can be placed a various angles and orientations to fit uniquely shaped rooftops. Enphase microinverters also ensured that despite suboptimal orientation and sporadic shading of the carports, the systems maximized energy production for the tenants of Coral Mountain Apartments.
