Why solar?

The Modesto Gospel Mission, established in 1948, provides services to poor and homeless individuals to meet their tangible and spiritual needs, offering a safe haven in the community. Any reduction in monthly bills greatly helps them focus on their mission. In short, adding solar to their building reduces their electricity costs.

The solar installer noted it was a privilege to partner with the Modesto Gospel Mission on this grant-funded project to help lower their operating costs. The grant required adding a solar array to their design.

Why Enphase?

Aaron Yakligian from Mid-State Solar shared key points on why Enphase was a good fit for this project: “This system size was in the sweet spot for a large microinverter installation, with a native 120/208 V service and a flat roof. The nuances of the layout were not obstacles, thanks to the flexibility of the Enphase design. The Enphase inverters provide a 25-year warranty which matches the warranty of the modules, hardware, and the new PVC roof. Having no high-voltage DC was also a plus.”

The Enphase commercial solution also helped to offset the total cost of this solar installation. “We leveraged the domestic Enphase products because we had the opportunity to receive the incremental 10% tax credit through the IRA,” explained Justin Hujdic, CFO for the Mission. In parallel, Aaron Yakligian went on to share, “The Enphase commercial solution met all the necessary criteria for this project and provides great features for monitoring. Since 2009, Mid-State Solar has had an excellent experience with Enphase.”
