Why solar?

The Westridge School for Girls is no stranger to solar, having installed a small solar system in 2008. However, the school’s electricity consumption had jumped considerably when the school installed an air conditioning system in the gymnasium, adding both financial and environmental costs. Westridge wanted to add another solar array to mitigate electricity costs and provide an opportunity for students to learn about renewable energy firsthand.

Why Enphase?

Installer Run on Sun installed a 52 kilowatt rooftop array on the school’s largest building, which is large enough to supply all of the energy needed for the gym’s A/C system – and thus reduce Westridge’s electricity bill by thousands of dollars each month. Not only were Enphase microinverters pivotal to the quick and seamless installation process, the Enlighten monitoring platform provides enough performance data for teachers to effectively incorporate the solar array into classroom instruction.
