Why solar?
As part of its commitment to sustainability, the City of Yarra wanted to pursue adding rooftop solar to seven of its public buildings. Smart Commercial Solar installed systems ranging from 1.5 to 15 kilowatts (kW) on six of them and an impressive 70 kW on the roof of Richmond Town Hall.
Why Enphase?
All of the buildings had unusual rooftops, shading, or difficult wiring, which posed challenges for system design. By using Enphase microinverters, Smart Commercial Solar was able to place panels at different angles and orientations to maximize energy production and optimize system performance. This was especially important in the historic Richmond Town Hall building, where the design flexibility of microinverters allowed Smart Commercial to maximize the size of the array, while also minimizing its visibility to the public.
