Ty and Ron didn’t expect the energy bills that come with Texas summers. Ouch. So, in 2017 they got solar to offset most, if not all, of their energy costs — and run their home on clean solar power. Then in the winter of 2021, when millions of Texans lost power in a winter storm, Ty and Ron decided to add an Enphase IQ Battery to have backup power.
