We’ve seen the cost of solar panels go down more than 75% and the amount of solar deployment grow exponentially, in the neighborhood of 40X over the course of a decade.

As the costs of solar panels and other hardware drops as a result of relentless commoditization, reducing the soft costs associated with labor on PV installations is becoming more important than ever. It’s critical that installers look at every aspect of their jobsites to determine the areas that they can consolidate and reorganize to help individual team members become more efficient. These streamlined onsite operations will ultimately pay off in the form of faster installs and more revenue for them and their team.

Enphase CEO Paul Nahi received an award at Interconnections 2016, an annual event held in San Francisco by GRID Alternatives, the nation’s largest non-profit solar installer, in honor of the contributions Enphase has made towards making solar available to low income families. Enphase has partnered with GRID since 2010, providing both Enphase microinverters and volunteer hours to help bring solar to deserving families around the United States.

Climate Ride is a nonprofit organization we support that organizes events to raise awareness and support sustainability, active transportation, and other environmental causes. For the past three years, Enphase employees have participated in Climate Ride California, and 2016 was no different.

A recent survey by sustainability research firm EuPD Research found that 1 in 4 U.S. solar installers are thinking about adding storage to their offerings in 2016. The study, featured in pv magazine, also found that nearly two-thirds of U.S. installers aren’t yet offering storage technology, with price and unproven technology cited as the two main reasons for not moving more quickly to build out storage capabilities.
