Connecting to the Envoy in AP mode on an Android 9 device

Follow these steps if you’re unable to connect to the Envoy in AP mode when running on an Android 9 device.

You can connect to your Envoy device from an Android smartphone or tablet (as shown in this video here).

If your device has Android 9 installed, you may face some difficulty connecting to the Envoy in AP mode. If this happens, make sure you have downloaded the latest version of the Installer Toolkit app and disable mobile networks on your Android phone.

To disable mobile networks on your Android phone:

  1. In your phone Settings menu, select Network & internet. (This may be called something different on your device. For example, it may be called Wi-Fi & internet.)

  1. Under Network & internet, select Mobile network. (This may be called something different on your device. For example, it may be called SIM & network.)

  1. If Mobile networks is enabled, toggle the switch to disable it.

  1. Continue with the steps shown here to connect your Android 9 phone with the Envoy.

NOTE: The steps and the screens may vary slightly based on the Android 9 interface your phone manufacturer provides.
