Enphase Connected Appliances FAQs

Home Connect has partnered with Enphase Energy to allow you to connect your Home Connect enabled appliances to your own solar installation through the Enphase App. Within the Enphase App, you will be able to conveniently create automations for your appliances powered through microinverters and solar batteries from Enphase. For more information, visit the Home Connect website or Enphase.

You will be able to use the Enphase App with the following Home Connect enabled appliances: washer, dryer, washer dryer, and dishwasher.

The Enphase App can be used with Home Connect enabled appliances in a total of 15 countries: US, CA, AU, NZ, DE, AT, CH, IT, FR, GB, BE, NL, ES, PL, IN.

The Enphase App supports six languages: English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Spanish. Localized program names for appliances will be available in all languages, as these are provided by Home Connect. 

You can purchase an Enphase Energy System through a local installer at https://start.enphase.com.

No, you can't add Enphase Energy System components, microinverters and solar batteries to the Home Connect app.

An Enphase Energy System and its components are best installed by a local installer. For a list of installers please refer to https://enphase.com/installer-locator.

Yes. If you haven't already, please download the Home Connect app, create an account, and connect your appliance/s to the Home Connect app. Once this is done, you no longer need to use the Home Connect app to control your Home Connect enabled appliances in the Enphase App.

Yes, you need to download, register and pair your appliance in the Home Connect app before you can add them to your Enphase App. Otherwise, it won't be possible to grant the Enphase App access to your appliances.

There are three categories of automation: Savings*, Self-Consumption*, and Time-of-Day. Savings optimizes the cost of running the appliance. Self-Consumption optimizes the self-use of solar energy. Time-of-Day will run the appliance at a scheduled future date and time.

Any of the three available automations can be set up to start a Home Connect enabled appliance.

Yes. In this case the appliance will draw all the required energy from the grid. Additionally, if you have a storage unit at home, your appliance can draw power from the storage as well.

 

Yes. In this case the appliance will draw all the required energy from the battery. In case not enough power is available it will draw all additional required energy from the grid.

Yes, you can. The appliance will draw the required energy from the grid or from the microinverters as soon as solar energy is available.

You need a registered Enphase Energy Systems to start Home Connect enabled appliances using the Enphase App. The registered Enphase Energy System can be either a Solar only system or a Solar and Storage system.

Home Connect enabled home appliances are available in nearly all electronic retail stores and selected kitchen furniture stores. You can find more details on which types of home appliances work with Home Connect in the Smart Home Appliances section under https://www.home-connect.com/global/smart-home-appliances.

No. Enphase consumers will not be able to use this functionality with connected home appliances from another brand in the Enphase App at the moment. 

No, you can't add Enphase IQ Microinverters and IQ Batteries to the Home Connect App.

Yes, all Home Connect enabled appliances added to the Enphase App can be set up for automation simultaneously.

For the Home Connect enabled appliances, the energy consumption values (if shown on the Enphase App) is an estimate based on the overall consumption at your home. The accuracy of the consumption data is not guaranteed. As you continue to use Enphase App to run your appliances, we get more data that helps us improve the accuracy of our estimates.

Connected Appliances works by linking your home appliances account with your Enphase account. Once linked, your appliances can be controlled via the Enphase App. To link your appliance with the Ephase App:

  1. Open Enphase App and sign in.

  2. Go to Menu page (use the "Hamburger" icon at the bottom right).

  3. Tap on "Connected Appliances" menu option.

  4. Tap on your appliance account and follow the steps on screen.

Connected Appliances works with Wi-Fi enabled appliances from select brands.

  1. Make sure your appliance brand is supported.

  2. Verify that your appliance is added to your appliance account.

  3. Use the correct login credentials to link your appliance account with you Enphase account.

  4. Contact Enphase support if the issue persists.

Connected Appliances works with Wi-Fi enabled appliances from select brands. Make sure your appliance brand is supported.

Connected appliances works with the following Wi-Fi enabled appliances:

  1. Brands: Bosch, Siemens, Gaggenau, Neff, Thermador, Balay, Constructa, Pitsos and Profilo.

  2. Products: Dryer, Washer, Washer Dryer and Dishwasher

The Smart Schedule feature on the Enphase App lets you setup an automation for your appliance. On the appliance page, select your preferred program and option that you wish to run. Then on the final confirmation page, from where you can start your appliance directly, you will get an option to setup Smart Schedules. Select the option and chose between the three available automations: Savings Schedule*, Self-Consumption*, or Time-of-Day.

The Enphase App requests permissions to help you monitor and control your appliances using the Enphase App. Below are the list of permissions that Enphase requests:

  1. Detect Appliances: We needs this permission to detect the appliances added to your appliance account. This also allows you to add your appliances to Enphase App.

  2. Monitor Appliances: We need this permission to display the live status information of your appliances on the Enphase App.

  3. Control Appliances: We need this permission to help you control your appliances using Enphase App.

  4. Get and Modify settings: We need this permission to help to modify your appliances using Enphase App.

You can revoke access to these permissions anytime by unlinking your appliance account.

Not at present. All the permission are pre-defined and standard for various appliance catogories. Either you give Enphase all the pre-set permission or none-at-all

Your appliance will continue to run for as long as it can using the backup power. The automations suggests the start time of your appliance. Once the appliance program has started, the automation doesn’t play any active role. For appliances that support remote Pause function, you can use the Enphase App to manually pause them during blackout and resume the program once power is back.
