Home Essentials Backup

An Enphase Home Essentials Backup system with IQ6 or IQ7 Series Microinverters is ideal for homeowners who want to power basic appliances during a grid outage. This provides homeowners with basic battery backup day or night with the use of a single IQ Battery 3 or 3T. Due to PV-to-battery ratio constraints, this configuration may require the implementation of PV shedding, depending on the size of the PV system.

Overview

In this configuration, the Enphase Energy System provides all-day backup for essential loads using IQ6 or IQ7 Series Microinverters and IQ Batteries. To maintain stability, IQ PV continuous power cannot be greater than 150% of the IQ Battery continuous power. This use case is best when the Enphase Energy System is configured to provide backup to a few pre-selected, essential load circuits. Up to two IQ Load Controllers are strongly recommended to reject high power loads or shed excess PV.
