IQ8 Series Installer Authorization

Effective June 1, 2020, Enphase will require installation companies to have an Enphase IQ8 Series Installer Authorization to install and commission Sunlight Backup systems without batteries. For your business to receive its Enphase IQ8 Series Installer Authorization, at least one employee must earn the individual Solar PV Certification and IQ8 Series Certification.

Installer companies installing grid-tied Solar Only systems with IQ8 Series Microinverters do not need the Enphase IQ8 Series Installer Authorization—this is only required for Sunlight Backup systems with IQ8 Series Microinverters.

How it works

Individual Solar PV Installer Certification

Complete the Enphase Solar PV Installer Certification training on Enphase University, a 6-hour online training course covering how to correctly install an Enphase solar system.

If you have the requisite knowledge and experience, you can test out of the course with a short quiz on Enphase University. If you pass the test, you’ll immediately earn the individual Solar PV Installer Certification and be granted immediate access to the IQ8 Solar Certification training. If you don’t pass, you’ll be required to take the individual Solar PV Installer Certification training on Enphase University.

Individual IQ8 Series Certification

Complete the Enphase IQ8 Series Certification training on Enphase University, a 2-hour online training course covering the system requirements and correct processes for installing a Sunlight Backup system. Grid-tied, IQ8 Series Solar Only systems do not require this certification for commissioning.

Getting approved to commission Sunlight Backup systems
