Enphase can provide SunPower Installers IQ7HS Microinverters for continuity of supply. The Enphase IQ7HS SKU is compatible with the SPWR-A5 microinverter SKU and approved by UL. SunPower Installers will also have access to our IQ8 Series Microinverters which are manufactured in the U.S. and have domestic content applicable for lease and PPA installations. Enphase products can be obtained from our authorized distribution partners in the U.S.

Yes. Enphase will honor the terms of the Enphase limited warranty for Enphase products used in SunPower systems. For more information about Enphase warranties, visit enphase.com/warranty/us.

SunPower Installers should first contact SunPower customer service to request an Enphase microinverter RMA. If SunPower customer service is unavailable, follow the steps outlined below.

If you know which microinverter has failed, collect the information remotely:

  • Serial number
  • A picture of the input DC and output AC voltage from your SunPower cloud account
  • Error reported by the system
  • List of troubleshooting steps completed (e.g. breaker check, junction box inspection)

If you’re unsure which microinverter has failed, a site visit will be required:

  • Visit the site and locate the microinverter with a solid red LED
  • Take a picture of the microinverter serial number and LED status
  • Take measurements of the DC and AC voltage on the microinverter (a zero or very low DC voltage typically indicates a panel problem)
  • List of troubleshooting steps completed (e.g. breaker check, junction box inspection)

Send the information collected above, along with the following homeowner and installer details, to support_sunpower@enphase.com.

SunPower uses a monitoring platform different from Enphase, so Enphase is unable to provide immediate technical support. However, SunPower systems can be modified to communicate with Enphase monitoring. This will provide you with 24x7 support directly from Enphase.

SunPower systems connect to a proprietary monitoring platform and the mySunPower app. Whether powered by Enphase or not, SunPower systems can be modified to communicate with the Enphase Monitoring Platform and the Enphase App by adding an IQ Gateway and current transformers to measure both production and consumption.

Enphase field service technicians will install the Enphase monitoring due to the technical nuances involved. Contact us at spwrquery@enphaseenergy.com or 510-945-6752 for more information. Once the Enphase monitoring is established, SunPower Installers will be able to do future microinverters or battery upgrades by themselves.

Your options depend on your system’s configuration, and any upgrades usually begin with transitioning to Enphase monitoring and the Enphase App. Once that is done, upgrades will be possible using the normal method of procuring product from any of our authorized partners.
