No adapter cable required
Connect solar modules directly into microinverters without an adapter cable.
Faster installation
Streamline van inventory and reduce unnecessary connections and parts on the roof.
Maximum reliability
Reduce the likelihood of issues down the road with fewer connections.
One less step
With the MC4 connectors, you can eliminate the adapter cable, reducing the number of connections your team will complete over the years by the thousands. It also means fewer parts that you need to carry up the ladder to the roof.
Before
IQ Microinverter with adapter cable (Q-DCC-2)
After
New IQ Microinverter with integrated MC4 connector, eliminating the adapter cable.
New model numbers
As you’re ordering Enphase IQ Microinverters, please use our reference tables as a guide to know when a Q-DCC-2 adapter cable is required. At a glance, model numbers that include “2” will require the adapter cable. Model numbers that include “M” will have an integrated MC4 connector.

Microinverters with integrated MC4 connectors will not ship with a Q-DCC-2 adapter cable as they are no longer necessary.
There are no special instructions for microinverters with integrated MC4 connectors. Please follow the same installation practices as outlined in the Enphase installation manual.
This table lists the existing product SKU numbers and their equivalent integrated MC4 connector counterparts.
IQ Microinverter with adapter cable (Q-DCC-2) | IQ Microinverter with integrated MC4 connector |
---|---|
IQ7PLUS-72-2-INT | IQ7PLUS-72-M-INT |
IQ7A-72-2-INT | IQ7A-72-M-INT |
Yes, you can mix and match microinverters as long as they are in the same product line. For example, an IQ7+ with an integrated MC4 connector can be combined with an IQ7+ that still uses a Q-DCC-2 adapter. Note that the permit should use an “-x” in place of either the “-2” or “-M,” and add “where x = 2 or M.”
For example: “Model Number: IQ7-60-X-INT, where x = 2 or M” or “IQ7PLUS-72-X-INT, where x = 2 or M.”
No, there is no price difference between the microinverters that have integrated MC4 connectors and those that use adapter cables.
Because we are eliminating the external bulkhead adapter, there is slightly less total cable. However, the impact should be minimal as module leads are typically 1.2–1.8 m in length.
Yes, all microinverters will eventually have integrated MC4 connectors. We are gradually transitioning each inverter in a phased manner.
