  1. Improved battery mode selection

    Battery mode selection is now part of the System Information page. This will reduce the time spent by technicians in the field.

     

  2. Wiring verification for battery mode changes

    When changing the Battery Mode from Import Only to Export Only, installers will be shown instructions to verify the main load panel wiring.

  3. Ability to add device serial numbers before gateway serial numbers

    Installers can now add serial numbers for IQ Microinverters and Q/IQ Relays without entering a gateway serial number, which provides greater flexibility and convenience.

  4. Warning for unusual breaker sizes in PCS sites

    A warning will appear on the PCS Based Limiting page if an installer selects an uncommon breaker size (0-15 A) in the Main Panel Upgrade Avoidance and IQ Battery Oversubscription sections.

  5. Aggregate Power Export Limit setting in the Configuration section

    Installers now have the ability to directly select the Aggregate Power Export Limit (PEL) on the PCS Based Limiting page of the Configuration section, if available for the geography.

What’s new

For all installers:

  1. Consumption meter validation 
     
    • While enabling a consumption meter, the Enphase Installer App will check if the production readings are captured correctly in the production meter for different consumption meter locations (Load with solar or Load only).
    • If a wiring error is detected, installers will be blocked from enabling the consumption meter and instructed to fix the error.
  2. Ability to enable consumption meters in low light conditions 
     
    • Installers will be allowed to enable consumption meters even in low light conditions with low solar power production.
  3. Production meters cannot be enabled with erroneous phase configuration  
     
    • Installers will be blocked from enabling a production meter when they mistakenly select a three-phase site configuration as single-phase instead of three-phase. 

For installers in the United States commissioning Off-Grid only sites: 

  1. Enphase Installer App now allows Off-Grid only commissioning 
     
    • Installers will be allowed to commission Off-Grid Enphase Energy Systems.  
    • Installers are required to complete training to perform the wiring and commissioning of Off-Grid configurations. Click here to access the required training  
    • Learn more about the Enphase Off-Grid offering for homeowners who want a clean, resilient, and self-sufficient grid-independent energy supply.

For installers in Europe commissioning IQ Energy Routers:  
 

  1. IQ Energy Router improvements 
     
    • The Enphase Installer App will automatically establish communication between the IQ Energy Router and the IQ Gateway when an old IQ Gateway is replaced with a new IQ Gateway.
    • The new IQ Gateway should be connected to the same network as the IQ Energy Router.

What’s new

For all installers:

  1. Faster power production during commissioning
    • Microinverters will start producing power within 5 minutes, but every microinverter will produce at a reduced rate.
    • After generating the summary report, Microinverters will be rebooted once they receive the necessary configurations, and normal operation will be resumed.

  2. Enhanced CT validation
    • Improved checks for zero production and CT location issues across all phases.
    • Added new import reduction checks for more accurate system readings.
  3. Improved IQ Gateway connectivity
    • New Connect now and Disconnect now options have been added for easier IQ Gateway management.
    • There is also an option to disconnect from AP mode for steps requiring internet connectivity.

    The process for connecting an IQ EV Charger to the IQ Gateway has been optimized, with clearer steps and improved error handling.

  1. Mandatory use of IQ Relay

    Starting in November 2024, an IQ Relay will be mandatory for all new system installations in Brazil to comply with warranty requirements.

For installers in India:

  1. IQ Relay importance notification

    There is a new notification emphasizing the importance of adding an IQ Relay for warranty coverage. If an IQ Relay is not used, warranties may be void.

For installers in Europe commissioning IQ Energy Routers:

  1. IQ Energy Router improvements
    • Added support for commissioning IQ Energy Routers with solar-only systems in countries with IQ Energy Management.
    • Streamlined the process for IQ Energy Router addition and activation.

  • Improves State-of-Charge (SoC) calibrations under lower and higher SoC conditions.
  • Fixes an issue where the BMU read the cell voltage incorrectly and became non-operational when the DC switch was turned off and on.
  • Addresses an issue seen on sites with M Series Microinverters, where a rare instance of SoC drop was observed due to manual SoC calibration done by the battery controller as part of compensating leakage current.
  • Fixes a sudden jump in the battery SoC value due to forced calibration of the SoC.

3Improved reporting to Enphase Cloud

  1. Change in System Type, permitting, and PV Module details

    The Enphase Installer App will require installers to update the System Type, permitting, and PV Module details in Step 1 (System Details) of the commissioning process.

    It is recommended that site creation (Step 1) be completed using the new activation form in the Enphase Installer Portal.

  2. Ability to create an array without scanning microinverters

    Installers will now be able to create an array for an Enphase system before scanning microinverters. Alternatively, installers can access the Array Builder from the IQ Microinverters details screen.

  1. Option to skip meter wizard steps for backup system commissioning

What’s new

For Enphase App users on NEM 3.0 (Net Billing Tariff) in California with IQ Batteries, and users with IQ Batteries on dynamic tariff or time-of-use rates in Belgium and Netherlands:

  1. Introduced new system profile called AI Optimization to help maximize savings

    For any NEM 3.0 system in California, as well as systems on dynamic tariff or time-of-use rates in Belgium and Netherlands, we have added a new system profile called AI Optimization. Replacing the former Savings profile, it maximizes financial savings based on electricity rate, consumption pattern, and expected solar production. This profile should be selected if the user’s main energy goal is saving more money on utility bills.

  2. Exporting to the grid in the Self-Consumption profile for NEM 3.0 systems

    For users on NEM 3.0 who prefer to keep their system profile set to Self-Consumption, and for whom the Battery Mode is Export only, the Discharge battery to the grid feature will be available to benefit from high export rates, especially during the months of August and September.

    Whenever the profile is switched to Self-Consumption, the Discharge battery to the grid feature will be auto-enabled. Once enabled, the discharge time window will be automatically set based on the user’s set tariff. If the tariff is missing, the discharge time window will be identified using the NEM 3.0 rates available at the user’s location based on ZIP code.

    Users with their battery in Export only mode can navigate to Menu > Settings > Battery to enable or disable the Discharge battery to the grid feature.

  3. Updated list of storm alerts and events to improve Storm Guard coverage

    We have updated the list of alerts and storm events that activate the Storm Guard feature.

    The updated list is more closely focused on the events that most commonly cause grid outages, thus improving the accuracy of Storm Guard activations.

    The app now allows grid-tied storage commissioning for sites with 208 V grid connections.

  3. Enabled installation of excess PV in third DER port

    Installers will now be allowed to install excess PV in the third DER port for backup-only storage configurations.

  4. Permission to Operate (PTO) details on System Details page

    In Step 1 (System Details), installers can now indicate if PTO has been received. Based on the input given, installers will be shown steps to disable solar and batteries as necessary or applicable.

  5. [California] Interconnection Application Date now required

    Installers now need to provide the interconnection application date when indicating that PTO has been received.

  6. [California] Setting Battery Mode for NEM 3.0 sites

    Installers can now set the battery mode for a NEM 3.0 site. They can choose between the Import Only and Export Only options on the battery mode selection page. Installers will have seven days to modify or rectify the battery mode selection, after which the option to change will be disabled.

For installers in Europe and the Middle East:

  1. Disabled PLC scan for cross-communication

    Multiple IQ Gateway software versions have been consolidated into a single bucket, reducing the software download size in the Enphase Installer App.

  2. Functional Validation for IQ Energy Router associated devices (EV chargers and heat pumps)

    In countries where the IQ Energy Management is available, installers will have an option to validate if associated peripherals like EV chargers and heat pumps are communicating and working properly.

  2. Rapid power production for IQ8 Microinverters

    The app will now make initial IQ8 power production significantly faster (< 5 minutes) during commissioning.

  3. Relaxing of cellular modem requirement for grid-tied storage systems

    Installers will now be able to commission a grid-tied storage system without installing a cellular modem. However, it is still mandatory to install a cellular modem for backup storage systems.

  4. Meter Wizard is now mandatory and Expert Mode has been removed

    Installers are now required to use the Meter Wizard to enable Production and Consumption Current Transformers (CTs). This ensures correct wiring of the CTs and enables installers to avoid delays in completing installation. Additionally, the Expert Mode feature to bypass the Meter Wizard and enable the meters has now been removed.

  5. Auto-start for battery firmware updates

    For systems with batteries, the app will auto-start a firmware update (if available) after completion of Functional Validation.

    Installers can now indicate if the utility has permitted the operation of the system, and turn off solar production if permission has not been received. If the system includes IQ Batteries, the app will show instructions on how to turn off the batteries and disable production if the utility has not yet permitted operation.

    Installers often create duplicate sites—for example, during system expansion, storage addition, or when upgrading a site under the Legacy Product Upgrade Program (LPUP). When duplicate sites are merged by Enphase Support, at the system owner’s or installer’s behest, data from one of the sites is lost. The app now advises installers to avoid creating duplicate sites while entering system details.

What’s new

For users in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland with an IQ Energy Router:

  1. Notification for devices that are not reporting

    You will now be notified whenever your IQ Energy Router, EV charger, or heat pump is not reporting.


For Enphase App users in the U.S. and Canada with IQ EV Chargers:

  1. Option to select if IQ EV Charger should be included in Storm Guard

    You will now be able to control if your IQ EV Charger is excluded or included when enabling Storm Guard for the home. By default, the EV charger will be excluded from Storm Guard.

    • If your EV charger is included in Storm Guard, it will disable all schedules and profiles and start charging immediately when a storm alert is received.
       
    • If your EV charger is excluded from Storm Guard, it will continue to charge as per saved settings even when a storm alert is received.
       

    To access and change IQ EV Charger settings for Storm Guard, navigate to Menu > Settings > Profile > Storm Guard.
