Why solar?

The Central Fire Station in Erie, Pennsylvania, is an emergency operations facility that needs to ensure 24/7 uptime, 365 days a year. “As a leader in sustainability and climate resiliency,” says Sarah Peelman, the city’s sustainability coordinator, “the City of Erie wanted to power the station with 100% renewable energy, while also having backup power for critical operations.”

Why Enphase?

The project posed a unique challenge for Solar Revolution, in that the solar and battery system needed to be installed on single- and three-phase wiring. Luckily, that need was easily met with Enphase commercial solar products. Today, the City of Erie is extremely proud of the Central Fire Station installation, and loves using the Kiosk view in the Enphase Installer Portal to showcase the system’s clean energy production.
